『ジギー・スターダスト』(写真)や『アラジン・セイン』といった名作に加え、なぜか『ブラック・タイ・ホワイト・ノイズ』といった最近の作品までもが、レア音源付きのスペシャル・エディション版として復刻されるなど、最新作『リアリティ』以外でも、我々音楽人を騒がしている、デヴィッド・ボウイ。そんな彼が、かつて過去のヒット曲を封印するために行なった（けど、結局は封印はしなかったのは、ご存知のとおり）グレイテスト・ヒッツ・ツアーと同時期にリリースした、ツアーと同名のボックス・セット『SOUND & VISION』が、このたびUSにて復刻されることになりました。

　リミックス、ライヴ、デモなど数々のレア音源が収録され、しかも限定でのリリースであったので、当時もかなりのレア・アイテムであったと言える今作は、元々“CD3枚組＋CDV（CD Video）”という構成でリリースされた作品であるものの、今回の復刻盤では、新たにCD4枚組としてリリースされる予定。その追加されたディスクには、封印時代に彼が結成したバンド“ティン・マシーン”の音源や、ソロ復活作『ブラック・タイ・ホワイト・ノイズ』の音源などの90年代前半の楽曲が収録される予定となっており、もちろん音源はすべてデジタル・リマスタリングし直されているとのこと。また、当時も話題になった分厚いブックレットを始め、ポストカードやポスターなどのオマケ類も今回付属されるそうなので、ファンは12月2日(US)のリリースを心して待つべし！　なお、気になる収録曲は下記のとおり。
